I was driving back from Coos Bay on Sunday when I noticed a herd of elk close to the Elk Viewing area on 38. This is the first time I've ever seen Elk in the wild and they are fascinating animals.
Even though you can see what looks like a fence in the pictures, these animals are not fenced in. A park ranger said they can easily jump fences anyway. Lovely weather for elk watching.
