Sounds good but what I observed was the male squirrel uses the hole in the tree to keep his mate from other squirrels while she is in heat. This makes it easy to fend off other males who would like to join in. Its kind of the strongest and smartest passes on his genes thing.
I was just lucky to have them both come out and pose at the same time for the shot...sorry.
