Hummingbird, Don't fly away

Last month while at the zoo in Omaha, I became friends with this little hummingbird. I spent at least a half hour watching it, and taking photos and video of it. Later it occurred to me that spending that time with the hummingbird, was like spending time with my mom who had passed away in September of last year. September 6th would have been her 75th birthday. My mom LOVED hummingbirds! She usually had 2 or 3 "regulars" that would come back to her feeders every year. I decided to make this video clip in honor and memory of the mother God blessed my life with for 41 years. An analogy that came to mind, as I have been grieving the loss of my mom and making this video, is that hummingbirds are such beautiful, amazing creatures and as much as I could have watched that hummingbird for hours on end I realize that life is like that...we want to watch and be with our beautiful, amazing loved ones forever here on earth, but no matter what, we all have to "fly away" from the ones we love and sometimes the ones we love must "fly away" too at some point in life. My mother "flew away" very suddenly on September 12, 2010, six days after her 74th birthday. Thank you for allowing me to share this with the world.
