KSW Construction is partnering with Dane County CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) to help break a world record this holiday season: the record for the world’s tallest gingerbread man. At 26-feet tall, the gingerbread man will be unveiled at the first annual Gingerbread Casas for CASA event held on Saturday, November 21 from 11:00a.m.-4:00 p.m. at Hilldale Mall. KSW is able to be a part of the record by having constructed the wood frame that the gingerbread man is built upon.
KSW enlisted the help of Shulfer Architects, Stoughton Lumber, and FABCO Rents to assist with the unique project. Building the frame for the gingerbread man included engineering, construction, supplies, and a lift; all donated by KSW and the supporters listed above. The KSW crew completed the frame last week, and Market Street Diner baker Dave Bowden has been baking and decorating the gingerbread man since, getting ready for the November 21 unveiling.
The event on Saturday will include a gingerbread house decorating competition between Madison-area businesses and a chance for families and children to decorate their own gingerbread cookies. The event will conclude with the presentation of the World’s Tallest Gingerbread Man. Local celebrities will be in attendance to judge competition entries and to make the official measurement for the record. For more information on the event, email GingerbreadCasasforCASA@gmail.com.

The mission of Dane County CASA is to be an independent voice for abused and neglected children who are under the legal protection of the Dane County Court System. The organization does this by training, supporting, and supervising community-based volunteers who advocate for these children in the community and in the courts with the goal of establishing them in safe, permanent homes as soon as possible.
