The 2009 Jan - Mar Weight Loss Challenge winners announced! Monday, March 30 was the culmination of the Biggest Looser of 09 Weight Loss Challenge. Thirty-seven participants in 3 different classes competed in a 12 week program advising proper nutrition, food choices and exercise.
Amanda Goolsby of Lyndhurst was the Verona WLC first place winner with a cash prize of $237. 2nd place went to Cindy Payne of Lyndhurst and 3rd to Jane Armstrong of Mt Solon. The most inches lost winner was Nancy Hall of Staunton. The Verona Weight Loss Challenge was sponsored by Wonder Land Enrichment center in Verona.
Wanda Johnson of Waynesboro was the winner of the Fishersville Morning Weight Loss Challenge with 2nd place to her sister Neila Luzaich of Staunton and 3rd to Char Thren of Waynesboro. The Afternoon challenge ends April 7th. Winners to be announced.
The Weight Loss Challenge is a great way for people to come together and support each other in loosing weight. The 12-week program advises proper nutrition, food choices and encourages exercise. Each person receives personalized weekly, one-on-one coaching. The cost is $35 for the program and all monies are paid out in cash and prizes to the winners. Specific rules are in place to keep everyone consistent. The contest is based on percentage of body weight lost.
Each week the participants weigh-in and consult with coaches, who will help you along the way, offering various options to help you reach your ideal weight and body composition. The program encourages participants to eat a healthy level of protein and calories each day and teaches the benefits of good nutrition and exercise. The program is for anyone wanting to get healthy, regardless of any other weight-loss program they participate.
The next Weight Loss Challenges will be starting soon. Wonder Land Enrichment Center is again hosting the Verona Weight Loss Challenge which will start April 14th at 6:30pm at Wonder Land 81 Quicks Mill Rd, Verona.
The Fishersville Weight Loss Challenge will start April 21st at 9:00am and will be held at 381 Long Meadow Rd, Fishersville.
