The Philip Barbour Student Council hosted a breakfast on November 18, 2009, to show their appreciation for all the hard work the entire staff at Philip Barbour High School has put in to nourishing the minds of the students. The students put much preparation into making the breakfast just right with complete table settings and a host, waiters, waitresses, busboys and cooks to accomadate all the tasks to be completed. They served over seventy staff to a sit down breakfast with a menu consisting of foods such as ham, fried potatoes with egg casserole, or a delicious piece of pie with coffee. The Student Council then prepared treat bags for the teachers as they left that included an apple and some tasteful sweets for the rest of their day. Mrs. Monneypenny, a teacher at PBHS complemented the event saying “In my all my twenty-nine years of teaching, this is one of the nicest things anyone has ever done for me.” The Student Council would like to send a special thank you to all those who helped to make The Education Appreciation Breakfast a huge success including Allison McNaboe, Becca Milem, Karen Shannon, Connie Seech, Joe Kaiser, McDonalds, Shop N Save, Sheetz, Food Fresh, Hardee’s, Laurel Mountain Inn.
