Guthrie, kno wn as the most paradingest city in Oklahoma! is getting new walkways all along Oklahoma Ave. This avenue runs from The Scottish Rites Temple also known as the First Capitol Building, to downtown Guthrie. This route has been used to celebrate the 89er land run for over100 years by hosting a massive parade every year in April. The workers have been going non stop in this 100 degree heat and expect to be finished in a few weeks with the north side of Oklahoma Ave. Guthrie is also planning to add street lights of old all along Oklahoma Ave. that reflect street lights of yesteryear. Guthrie homeowners all along Oklahoma Ave. are willing to put up with the mess for awhile to get the outcome that is expected to be quite a vision!
