CPR as used by EMT on gun shot victims could be expediting their death. When an individual is shot; the bullet tears up blood vessels, organs and all. The reduced blood-red blood cells prevent the delivery of enough oxygen for the body's needs. The victims show signs of gasping for air or need oxygen. The only solution is to provide blood to carry the oxygen to the various parts of the body.
CPR requires the pumping of the chest, diaphragm, heart and lungs. This is unhelpful because their is insufficient blood to carry the oxygen. However, the technique assists in creating more injuries, more bleeding and is counter productive.
The other strategy is for the first responder to gather up the victim and speed to the nearest hospital for blood, stop, bleeding and repair the damage. Anything else is hastening death.
