FINALE WEEKEND OZARK INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY

Last race of the season was held this past weekend at Ozark International Raceway. The Finale gives everyone the chance to have fun still get some racing in good food and hang around and talk. The point’s battle is over no pressure except to win the money of course. Several racers and there families showed our Technical crew of one Mr. Ron Mayfield they wanted to make it his day too by wearing overalls. Track owners Wes and Michelle Pfifer had a fish and shrimp fry for everyone at the track the food was great and there was lots of fun for all.
Several of our racers have also been following the CDRA circuit, we have a team of at least twenty five heading to Tulsa Oklahoma next weekend for the finals there. Good luck to all of them.
The track here will still be open for test and tune on Friday the 2nd of November and then on Saturdays after that weather temperatures permitting.
Finale winners are: Cody Allen in Jr. Dragster ran an 8.32 at 76.78 mph to take the win.
Yates in Trophy Class with a 10.34 at 101 mph to take his first win ever. Brandon Roberts in No Electronics with a red light win over Steve Rogers. Mike Schmitz won Super Pro with a holeshot win over Joe Williams. Schmitz ran a 5.60 at 119 mph.
Bob West of Republic and long time racer had a parts failure at the big end of the track that put his car on the guardrail. The car was damaged beyond repair. But Bob was fine due to him following the safety rules with a roll cage, seat belts and helmet. It was quite a team effort to load his car on the trailer but everyone pitched in and helped that’s the drag racing family.
