Air Force Reserve Airman Matthew P. Salas graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.
The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.
Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
He is the son of Emily Salas and nephew of Margarita Salas of Hagatna, Guam.
Salas graduated in 2002 from John F. Kennedy High School, Tamuning, Guam, and received a bachelor's degree in 2006 from Boston University, Mass.
