These are America's greatest generation, heroes who took part in the Liberation of Guam and Saipan. Nebraska WWII vets are honored with a dinner and a trip to Washington DC to see their WWII Memorial. U.S. Marines Rudy Stoyich and Rich Lang landed on Guam July 21, 1944. Juan Jesus, formerly of Asan, is involved in honoring them and is shown with Nebraska Gov Heinenman and two vets who took part in the Marianas Campaigns. The Nebraska Chamorro community will honor these heroes during Liberation Day 2009.

Can someone tell us when the Liberation Day festivities will be held at Offutt AFB NE? This is normally held at the base lake but I've been out of touch with my friends and my grandchildren are not dancing this year. sabelsk@windstream.net
