Magis Guam was awarded the overall winner in the 2007 Tumon Bay Music Festival organized by the Guam Territorial Band in cooperation with the Hyatt Regency Guam. The local choir was judged on musical tone, balance, blend, intonation, articulation, dynamics, style, choice of repertoire, group appearance and audience appeal.
In addition to receiving the highest number of points in the 3rd annual music fest, Magis was also adjudged Gold during their performance on March 3, 2007 at the St. John's Episcopal Church. Randall Stenson, director of choral music at St. Mary's International School Tokyo was the guest Adjudicator of the event. Local judges were Dr. Randall Johnson & Dr. Cynthia Sajnovsky, both Professors of Music with the University of Guam.
The group also received $500 courtesy of the Bank of Guam, as the judges' choice in the open choir division.
The music fest featured many of the island's noted choral groups, bands, rock and jazz ensembles in the elementary, middle school, high school and open divisions performing in different venues around Tumon Bay from March 1 to 9, 2007.
Magis Guam received a standing ovation following their performance on Thursday, March 6, 2008 at St John's church during the 2008 Tumon Bay Music festival. Adjudicator Randy Stenson of St Mary's International School, Tokyo called the group "incredible" adding "other people outside of Guam need to hear you.
