In preparation for restoration work at the Frank Phillips Home in Bartlesville, OK, it was necessary to find out what was inside the 100 year-old columns gracing the front of the mansion. A Tulsa architectural firm was hired to assess the condition of the aging wood columns.
The 26-room mansion was the home of oil pioneers, Frank and Jane Phillips, who built their beautiful Neo-classical home in 1909.
Eight years later, Frank and his brother, L.E. incorporated the Phillips Petroleum Company . The home is now an Oklahoma Historic Site and is open to the public for touring.
The home is celebrating its 100th birthday this year and through a generous grant is repairing wood structures and repainting the exterior.
The Frank Phillips Home is located at 1107 SE Cherokee in Bartlesville, OK. You can read more about the home on its website at www.frankphillipshome.org
