Channel: Weather

Location: Oklahoma, state wide

All across Oklahoma a study is being conducted, the target?: Waterfalls. That's right waterfalls in Oklahoma. Photograph, height, flow rates, gps, mapping, seasonal or spring fed. Water quality test will be preformed at later dates at certian locations.

The study being conducted by the Wolf Traveler formed by Mike Rinehart is conducting the study along with his wife and a few close friends.

All across the state there beauitul waterfalls from border to border. Yes waterfalls in Oklahoma. Drove by his passion for nature and nature photography, Mike has generated a large fan base supporting his efforts.

The Study has logged over 100 waterfalls to date and over 200 listed to locate around the state. Mike said there are several waterfall locations that he would like to have eventual clean up and conservation started. Some locations he would like to see maybe someday restored into natural areas or a park such as Natural Falls State Park is.

Oklahoma's waterfalls are a great resource for this state. Waterfalls are scattered all over and in all hieghts. There are several locations that Mike is waiting unpatiently for more information about where several waterfalls could surpass Natural Falls and Turner Falls as Oklahoma's tallest. One such location hidden down in the Kiamichi Mountians that is said to be well over 100ft in height.

The Wolf Traveler has 2009 Oklahoma Waterfall calenders for sale and 2010 calenders available in April along with posters and postcards. All proceeds go to benefit the Oklahoma Waterfall Study and conservation and cleanup of some waterfall locations.

If you would like Oklahoma waterfall merchandise or have information of a waterfall in Oklahoma that you know about you may contact The Wolf Traveler at wolffire1213@yahoo.com, or 918-346-5417.
Any information on waterfalls in excess of over 5ft are greatly oppreciated seasonal or spring fed.
