Moeller Heights Neighborhood Association (MHNA) northeast of Nathan Hale High School, Tulsa, celebrated its' 10th Annual Fourth of July parade with neighborhood families and friends from across the city, and two states.
Children who grew up in the neighborhood returned with their children to join grandparents, residents and friends for breakfast and annual parade. The children LOVE the atmosphere and look forward to it EVERY year!
Adding to the festivities was a blast of patriotic music, the MHNA Spirit Drum with celebrants taking their turn to beat out the rhythmn of the day, and our neighborhood fires station firefighters leading the way with truck sirens blaring, whopping, and honking away.
Neighbors along the parade route came out onto their porches to exchange waves and claps of approval.
The neighborhood always makes sure to give a huge basket of delicious goodies to their favorite firefighters and the paraders rejoined our senior members under shady trees for the award ceremony for the decorating contest, and the grand finale--a water balloon toss and "water balloon wars!"
Great fun, beat the heat, AND showing their pride in the good ole' USA...Moeller Heights!
