Ground Broken for Medical Complex in BA

The new St. John Broken Arrow Medical Complex is now underway in Broken Arrow. Groundbreaking ceremonies took place at the site for the new hospital which is at 61st and Elm. What was a five-story, 84 bed concept is now a six-story, 96 bed reality. The total cost of the project is estimated at around $100 million dollars. Along with the new hospital, there will be a connecting four-story medical office building and space for plenty of retail, restaurants, and two hotels.
St. John Broken Arrow will be built and owned by Broken Arrow Medical Facility LLC and managed by St. John Health
System.
The new medical complex will finally bring a full-service hospital to Broken Arrow and service the surrounding areas. City officials are hoping for big economic gains from the hospital, which will be a major employer providing good salaries.
Steve Walman with Walman Commercial Real Estate Services will be handling the commercial property, which is expected to begin development immediately.
Completion of the medical office building is expected in summer of 2009 with the hospital opening in fall 2009.
