Today marks the official groundbreaking of the new medical center in Broken Arrow. The site is on the the northwest corner of 61st and Elm in Broken Arrow's growing commercial district.

It has been over a year since St. Francis made plans to leave the Broken Arrow community and now, St. John is stepping up to fill a major gap in the community.

Along with the new 5-story hospital and 4-story medical office building, there will be many sites for retail development and 2 sites for hotel development. There are currently 2 hotel companies that are interested in building at this 68 acre site.

The new hospital is slated to open next summer and service the needs of this growing Tulsa suburb.

*EDIT* St. John's Website claims the hospital will actually be a six-story building and include 96 beds and completion will be in the fall of 2009.
