Spring Into Action a Huge Success

What a wonderful evening it was...honoring Anne Deaton, Jolene Schulz, and Veteran’s United Home Loans for all they do...raising nearly $30,000 so Voluntary Action Center can keep helping Boone County's low-income citizens get out of and stay out of poverty.

Boone County National Bank presented the 11th Annual Voluntary Action Center’s Spring Into Action, which was held on May 22 at the University Club. Matt Melton, Boone County National Bank’s Managing Officer spoke on behalf of the Presenting Sponsor.

Anne Deaton was awarded the Outstanding Community Service Award. Presenting this award was Cathy Scroggs, VAC Board Member.

Former VAC Board Member, Jolene Schulz, was awarded the Hazel Riback Award for outstanding service to VAC. Former VAC Executive Director, Cindy Mustard, and Vicky Riback Wilson presented this award, which was named after Riback Wilson’s mother and the "Mother of VAC," Hazel Riback.

Veterans United Home Loans was honored with the Heart of VAC Award. Alex George, VAC Board President, presented this award. Veteran’s United Home Loans was represented by Megan Sievers, Liz Harris, Kate Quinn, and Meghan Buchert (who is also a VAC Board Member).
