Inspired by the Hard Luck Diner in Branson, Mo, where the waiters and waitresses perform for their customers, the JCHS Choir Boosters will host a spaghetti dinner fundraiser on Tuesday, Nov. 29 which will feature singing wait staff made up of members of the Jefferson City High School choirs. The event, titled Jay-Rock Café, will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 201 Monroe Street.
Tickets for the Jay-Rock Café event are $10 in advance and $12 at the door. Tickets can be purchased from any JCHS choir member or at Southbank Gift Company.
The spaghetti entrée and salad will be prepared by Mark Arcabasso of Dominico’s Restaurant in Jefferson City. Homemade desserts will top off the meal.
In addition to performances by the wait staff, the award-winning J-City Riot show choir (video) and the JCHS Chorale will perform and a silent auction will take place.
“We are excited about an event which not only provides dinner out for people, but also showcases the vast talent we have in the high school vocal music program,” said Joe Robinson, JCHS Choir Booster President. Proceeds from the event will support the vocal music program at JCHS.
Top sponsors of the event include Capital Region Medical Center, Southbank Gift Company and Spencer Fane Law Firm.
