I noticed flashing lights outside of my house. I live directly across the street from the house where a man was on the roof waving a gun and pointing it at his head. APD was on scene. SWAT arrived soon after and tried for a long time to talk him down over a loud speaker. He kept saying he would rather shoot himself than have them (SWAT) shoot him. He then jumped to the next roof directly across from me. This was where SWAT was concealing themselves. They covered my elderly neighbor who lives in that house in a flack jacket and took her out in the armored vehicle to safety. Not long after I heard the first shot. SWAT then tried to talk the young man down telling them that there was an ambulance waiting and that they knew he was injured. He moved around on the roof but did not follow their directions. I then heard the second shot. I knew it was over because at that moment, all of the police and SWAT members dropped their weapons.
