When my husband and I were moving to Santa Fe from San Francisco, CA, we knew we wanted another beagle to replace the one we had just lost to old age. I looked on PetFinders and saw Buster, called the contact person and reserved him for us.
Buster's story was a sad one--he was one of several dogs in a household and was allowed to eat all he wanted. When his weight got to the point where he could no longer walk, his "family" took him to the vet to be put to sleep. The vet asked them to sign Buster over to him and dieted the little guy down to 65 lbs -- he could walk again! He was nine years old.
After PetFinders interviewed us and our references, Buster came home to stay. Now, seven years later, he is a svelte 35 lbs and plays with his two Afghan Hounds, Stella and Jerry, also rescued, with their own "tails" to tell.

Thank you Thank you. Am glad that vet saved him from being put down as he did not deserve that. And now he has a good family and home.
