It all began several years ago when I responded to one of Steve Stucker’s stories. A gentleman fighting Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma needed a safe “temporary” home for his two Basset’s while he was in California for treatment & awaiting his bone marrow transplant. After a nine month battle I am sad to say the gentleman lost his fight.
At this point Max & Bella (the basset’s), had become a part of our family and we knew they would stay with us forever. Forever came to soon for our beloved Bella and she left this world last January. I am not sure who missed her the most me or her buddy Max.
We began casually looking at rescue dogs & the rest is history….so they say. Now meet Griffin.
It’s amazing how time and puppy kisses heal all wounds. He follows Max everywhere and brings joy to all.
Before Max and Bella I never thought of a basset hound as “the dog for me” . They are funny, lovable clowns with a stubborn streak as big as their ears.
Griffin was a rescue form Clovis NM
Thanks Steve.

As an owner of 5 bassets throughout the years, I must say they are the most lovable pet I have ever had. They just want to eat, sleep and be loved. Your two are absolutely adorable!!
