BREAKING NEWS- The Chaves County Sherrif's Department, along with Roswell Police and the Pecos Valley Drug Task Force served a high risk search warrant about forty-five minutes ago on Roswell's west side. Unfortunately, it appears like the suspect might have gotten away.

Chaos consisting of yelling, broken glass, and a police "flashbang" filled the air briefly, as law enforcement made entry on a first-story apartment.

The Mesa Verde Apartments, located on the 400 block of South Wyoming street, is well known for it's high crime rate and high drug activity.

Several years ago, Roswell Police officers were involved in a brief but deadly shootout with a man right behind the building where tonight's warrant was served. The suspect in that shooting was killed by officers, and one officer did recieve injuries.

Mesa Verde Apartment complex was like a ghost town after tonights incident, and the few bystanders we found, were not saying a word about what happened.

Roswell Police sergeants were on the street and unavailable for comment. However, Roswell Police non-emergency dispatch was only able to confirm that there was a search warrant served.
