Fatal balloon accident

When the power went out and the wail of sirens blared, we knew something dreadful had occurred. My daughter and I stepped in front of our home and looked upward at helicopters who were encircling a balloon. To our horror we saw that the balloon was separated from the gondola. My daughter wept and my younger child was so frightened he refused to go outside. What a truly eerie sight it was, the doomed balloon, in contrast to the beautiful New Mexican sky at morning.
