On a nature walk through the Boca Negra Canyon in the Petroglyphs National Monument, my grandson and I stumbled upon what can only be described as a Chupacabra.

At first we thought it was a deer, then upon further investigation, we saw that it was a canine-type creature. I snapped a series of pictures of the animal.

When we returned to the Ranger station, we asked the Ranger on duty what it was. His answer surprised me: he didn't know.

To my astonishment, I got home and found a video of a person who filmed the same type of animal here in the Southwest.

I hope you enjoy them.

Pretty cool. I heard the Chupacabra are Coyote hybrids with mange. Is this true?

Beverly, this was not linked to the video. It just happened my grandson and I went for a nature photo walk near his neighbor hood the day after the video aired and happened upon this creature.
