There were over 400 new US Flags given away on Saturday to anyone who retired a worn or tattered American Flag as part of the Great American Flag Swap. Many people from Grand Island, Kearney and Hastings brought in more than one flag leaving about 500 flags to be retired at an offical Boy Scouts of America flag ceremony. It didn't take long at some distribution locations to give out 100 quality heavy nylon 3x5 flags. Members of the VFW, Boy Scouts of America and KHAS TV employees hand delivered each flag and many employees of various distribution locations help as well. Big G Ace Hardware Hastings, Allens Superstore Hastings, All Faiths Funeral Home Grand Island, NAPA locations in Hastings, Kearney and Grand Island. It was a great way to pay tribute and to show respect for America and to our American Flag.
