Eddie Meador, former Russellville Cyclone (1953-55) & ATU Wonder Boy (1955-59) and Los Angeles Ram (1959-70) has been nominated for the NFL Pro Football Hall of Fame's Class of 2010, Senior Category.
Mid-April, the NFL Hall of Fame Seniors Committee will begin the selection process for the Class of 2010 with their final decision in June. One, maybe 2, Seniors will be chosen for induction.
Meador's children are campaigning to hopefully get him inducted into the Hall. This is the greatest honor a Pro Football player could hope for. Since the beginnin of this campaign, the family has received phone calls and e-mails from former teammates and NFL players like Merlin Olsen, Raymond Berry, Tom Mack & Tommy McDonald, voicing their support for Eddie.
In Meador's 12 seasons as a starting defensive back with the Rams, he achieved the same level of play as other secondary men in the Hall of Fame. He was named to the NFL's All-Decade Team for the 1960's, he was selected for six Pro Bowls, he was All-Pro five times and he still holds the Rams' All-Time Interceptions Record, which is remarkable considering teams in the 60's didn't throw the ball as often. Other awards and accomplishments can be found on various NFL archives as well as the Meador website which has been created FOR him. Meador is currently a member of the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame, the Helms Foundation Hall of Fame, and the NAIA Collegiate Hall of Fame. The Pro Football Hall of Fame would be the ultimate enshrinement for the Wonder Boy- turned Ram.
Meador's children and family invites everyone to view his website at www.edmeador21.com. They need help spreading the word about this site, campaign and if anyone would like to, they may send in their vote/letter of recommendation for Eddie to the Hall of Fame through this website.
Meador has been such a great friend, leader, teammate, player & positive role model to his former teammates & other NFL players who know him. He is very deserving of this honor.

I was in school at Henderson when Ed Meador played at Arkansas Tech. He was a great player at Tech - I think two time Little All American and was a greater player for the LA Rams. Six time Pro Bowler. He should be in the Hall of Fame.
